- Wins of pre-launch and launch programs: depression (> $3MM over 3 yrs); insomnia ($3MM over 3 yrs); schizophrenia ($0.5MM over 1 year); cardiovascular (($0.5MM/year)
- Wins of strategic science development accounts: insomnia ($0.5MM over 1 year); obesity ($0.4MM over 1 year); Alzheimer’s/depression ($0.4MM/year)
The candidate has been a key driver in establishing and growing two start-up ventures involving a healthcare internet portal targeted at physicians and patients as well as a strategic medical communications company. To generate revenue, he expanded the product offerings of the medical education company with strategic science foundation development. The development of a pre-launch scientific platform by him and his team was instrumental in the creation of professional education material and/or the successful launch of several first-in-class compounds.
- During his tenure with two previous organizations, he built a strong in-house team of medical directors, medical writers/researchers (MDs, PharmDs and PhDs), and editors through recruitment and staff development. He has led the creation of a staff training program to utilize their deep clinical and scientific understanding and market-centric nature in the pursuit of the aforementioned business wins and organic growth.
- In his previous role as Medical Director/Strategic Scientist, he was responsible for the development of scientific platforms for several compounds in neuroscience, cardiovascular, metabolic, GI and oncology specialties. In addition, he participated in business development in concert with the EVP, Marketing and Sales in pitching pre-launch and launch initiatives for various media programs. Clients for these activities included GSK, Eli Lilly, Pfizer, Sanofi-Aventis, Takeda, Astra-Zeneca, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Novartis and CV Therapeutics.
- In his previous roles, the candidate was responsible for developing and maintaining strategic relationships among professional and consumer health organizations, pharmaceutical partners along with key opinion leaders. These relationships were instrumental in the creation of numerous healthcare initiatives directed towards physicians and patients. Clients included American College of Cardiology, American Association of Neurological Surgeons, National Parkinson Foundation, American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association, American Cancer Society, Centers for Disease Control and the National Institutes of Health. In addition, the candidate was called upon to deliver a variety of medical and strategic presentations to academic centers, medical advisory boards, hospital associations, and professional medical associations.
This talented candidate is looking to be a VP of Medical Affairs and/or Scientific Strategies, Sr. Medical Director or the like. He would like to have responsibilities with medical content, business development, as well as key opinion leader collaboration. Essentially, he would prefer room for growth beyond his role that works on interesting products, is intellectually challenging, and is based on medicine and strategy. This candidate seeks an executive level role within an organization that is dynamic and collaborative, a company that will allow him autonomy to make the best business decisions possible. He has the need and ability to either work remotely or in the southeast.
